Delvin Leekya carved this travertine bushytail out of travertine, also called Zuni rock, and inlaid bright turquoise eyes. He made a carved pink mussel shell arrowhead and put a bit of green snail shell on top of the bundle. It has a natural line on the right side of its eye, almost like a scar that has healed. We all carry some kind of scars, either internal or external. This bushytail tells us that scars always heal with the right kind of medicine.

Wolves, coyotes, and foxes all look the same in the distance. In Zuni there is a word that translates into "bushytail" in English. You get to determine what this carving looks like to you!
Traditionally, Zuni carvings are symbolically fed cornmeal. Each Zuni fetish comes in a box with a descriptive card and a tiny bit of corn meal to tide them over until they reach you.
