Enrike Leekya carved this chubby bushytail that we are pretty sure is a fox based on its bushy tail. The travertine is very interesting with what may be calcite and other minerals on one side. The eyes and nostrils are smoothly inlaid turquoise, and the bundle has a red spiny oyster shell arrowhead, and a turquoise arrowhead. It also has inlaid red spiny oyster shell for a tongue that barely sticks out of its mouth. Adorable!

Wolves, coyotes and foxes all look the same in the distance. In Zuni there is a word that translates into "bushytail" in English. We are pretty sure this bushytail is a fox. Foxes are playful, clever, quick, and protective of their young. They also mate for life.
Traditionally, Zuni carvings are symbolically fed cornmeal. Each Zuni fetish comes in a box with a descriptive card and a tiny bit of corn meal to tide them over until they reach you.
