This 5 strand necklace always reminded us of the universe with planets and asteroids and unknown things. Handmade by an artisan from Kewa Pueblo in New Mexico, it is strung with hand-rolled heishi, lapis, turquoise, apple coral, white clam shell, jet, abalone and red coral beads. Unfortunately, we don't remember who made it...so sorry!
Size: 20" in length
Many of the Pueblos in New Mexico took on Spanish names after colonization and are now taking back their original names. Kewa Pueblo is the traditional name of the place and the people. It was known as Santo Domingo Pueblo for many, many years.
