This necklace by treasured Kewa mosaic inlay jeweler, Mary Louise Tafoya who has taken the traditional Kewa Pueblo mosaic style of jewelry to a new level. She designs each piece and creates them alongside her husband, Lorenzo. The fish pendant has onyx, turquoise, spiny oyster shell, sodalite, and serpentine inlaid on jet mixed with epoxy. The hand-rolled beads are turquoise, catlinite, jet, and shell. One would never be alone wearing this Friendly Fish necklace!

Many of the Pueblos in New Mexico took on Spanish names after colonization and are now taking back their original names. Kewa Pueblo is the traditional name of the place and the people. It was known as Santo Domingo Pueblo for many, many years.
