Ruben Najera carved this intricately delicate flurry of tiny hummingbirds.  Each branch has a larger and smaller hummingbird, and a nest with a red coral egg.  They are all carved from a deer antler.  The largest hummingbird is .75" x .75" in diameter...wow!  We took a lot of photos so you can see the amazing details.

Size: 2" H x 2.25" L x 1.25" W

Hummingbirds are fierce defenders of their families.  Many Indigenous people consider them to be messengers between this world and the spirit world.  And, in some tribes they are considered to be “love medicine”.

Traditionally, Zuni carvings are symbolically fed cornmeal.   Each Zuni fetish comes in a box with a descriptive card and a tiny bit of corn meal to tide them over until they reach you.
