Many Indigenous people understand there are spirits of the waters which hold the memories of the places they flow.  "Water is Life" has become a world-wide cry for protection of waters which support life.  We cannot live without water and there is less than 3% of fresh water available on Mother Earth, much of which is locked in glaciers and ice.

Traditionally, Zuni carvings are symbolically fed cornmeal.   Each Zuni fetish comes in a box with a descriptive card and a tiny bit of corn meal to tide them over until they reach you.
