Rickson Kallestewa gave this bear pot with a Kokopelli, one raincloud and one cloud with lightening carved and painted black.  It has a seed inside of the pot and it is held between its two front paws.  The eyes, nose, mouth and paws are carved into the alabaster and painted black.  Rickson carved a jet arrowhead that sits within the bundle on its back.  Rickson's carvings always seem to have a sense of humor, as does this one.

Size: 1.75" H x 3" L x 1" W

In Zuni tradition, the mountain lion is the guardian of the north, where wisdom lives.  Mountain lions are excellent predators, fierce protectors of their families, and generally solitary when they don’t have young ones.  They are also graceful and fierce, like all of the big cats, and are only seen by humans when they choose to be seen.

Traditionally, Zuni carvings are symbolically fed cornmeal.   Each Zuni fetish comes in a box with a descriptive card and a tiny bit of corn meal to tide them over until they reach you.
