What a beauty!  Award-winning Yaqui jeweler, Michael Horse, set a gorgeous high-grade natural Kingman turquoise stone in 14kt gold.  The band is tufa cast which gives it an organic appearance.  "Michael Horse" is engraved on the back.  More about the tufa cast jewelry making process below.

Tufa is a volcanic stone which can be as dense as chalk which has an organic texture. The first thing a jeweler does is examine a piece of tufa for any tiny fractures.  If it looks good, the tufa is cut in half and, if there is a design, it is carved into the tufa.   There is a pour hole carved into the top and several narrow vents carved into each side.  The two pieces are then bound together tightly and molten silver or gold is poured through the hole at the top.  If there are any microscopic cracks, the tufa explodes when the metal is poured in and the process has to begin again.

This gorgeous sky blue turquoise has brown and golden matrix and resembles the colors of tropical ocean with islands. The stone is set in a sawtooth bezel and has sterling silver twisted wire around it.  The band is split shank and can be made one size larger. This gorgeous deep teal turquoise has brown and golden matrix. It resembles the colors of tropical ocean with islands. Michael Horse has an extensive collection of turquoise he has collected over the years and it's understandable that he doesn't remember the mine this one came from, but it is definitely domestic. Michael uses heavier gauge silver in his bracelets which are made to last lifetimes.   The band is triple shank with heavy gauge triangular shaped silver with cut outs on each side and six silver berries.  Michael inscribed his name on the inside.

This lovely natural Blue Moon turquoise, sterling silver bracelet was made by award-winning jeweler Michael Horse. The stone color is seafoam green with a couple of darker areas. Michael uses heavier gauge silver in his bracelets which are made to last lifetimes.   The band is triple shank.  Hand-stamped sunrays adorn each side of the turquoise.  Michael inscribed his name on the inside.
