The eagle is the most sacred of all the raptors since it sees the furthest and flies the highest. It is considered as a messenger to take our prayers to the Creator. Many Indigenous people consider it a blessing to see one. In Zuni Pueblo, eagles are also the guardians of the sky world.

Eagle feathers are sacred to Native American people. The eagle flies closest to the Creator and sees everything happening below. The people pray with eagle feathers with the understanding that the feathers will take the prayers to the Creator. Eagle feathers should not be dropped on the ground, but if they are, they are blessed before being used again.

These Yummy Turquoise Earrings were made by Navajo jeweler Rita Largo. For some reason they remind us of yummy candy! Oval turquoise that are a bit darker than sky blue is set into a bezel surrounded by twisted wire and wider sterling silver. The posts are repousse sterling silver stars. Nice and light!
