Two Spirit people are not only accepted in most traditional Indigenous communities, but also honored. In many tribes they have traditionally held places of respect as medicine people, healers, the parents of orphans, diplomats, and more. Two Spirit people are understood to embody both genders which blesses them with a deeper understanding of the human condition.

Yaqui artist, Michael Horse, painted this image, Two Spirit Strong, to honor our relatives who have had the strength to defy the colonizer's attempts to harm and diminish them, as well as force them into binary relationships for hundreds of years. We honor their courage and bravery with this image.

Coyotes figure prominently in Native American history. In some tribes, they are powerful creation beings who teach us by doing things that turn out wrong, or even disastrous. Oftentimes, they have a humorous quality. In their natural environment they live in packs, hunt together, and protect one another. Once one hears them yipping at night it is never forgotten.
