Read on if you are interested in the energies of stones: Pennie Opal Plant is the founder and owner of Gathering Tribes. She has been collecting stone beads for over 45 years but did not have much time to make jewelry. She has had relationships with the rock people for as long as can remember. Her first business was a rock shop in the 1980s where she learned a lot about how stones can help humanity.

She says that while there are many books on the energies that stones bring to us, stones are like people. We may have a friend in common and there may be things that you know, feel, think about that person that may be very different for another person.  The best way to know how they will be with you is to sit with them, get settled, quiet the mind, and feel the changes in your body, emotions, and thoughts while holding the stone(s).

This natural Asian turquoise bead is so yummy! Pennie paired it with root beer colored glass African trade beads with eight turquoise spacer beads. The clasp is large to make it easier to get on and off.

"We have no human enemies. Our enemies are the thought forms that created separation, colonization, and capitalism". This is a premise of Idle No More SF Bay in the San Francisco Bay Area, an Indigenous and ally group working on protecting and defending the sacred system of life. With the understanding that we are all related, and some of our relatives have forgotten how to be in good relationships with one another, this is the creed that many of us try our best to live by.

The perfect backpack for school, work, hikes, or picnics! This design was created by Yaqui artist Pennie Opal Plant on July 4, 2025 during a time of contention in the world.
